Hi there Razzberries!
I’M PARTICIPATING IN A BLOG TOUR!
Yep, I get to be one of the stops on Krisha’s Cosy Corner Blog Tour! I’m super excited!
For y’all who don’t know her, Krisha is mainly a book blogger on her blog “Krisha’s Cosy Corner”. I love her content, and that her ideas are so fun and creative! Here’s a bit from her:
Hello everyone I am Krisha. I am the author of Krisha’s Cozy Corner .Thank you so much ( your name ) for having me on your blog and participating in my blog tour . I am honoured to be here . So let me tell you a bit about myself
I am a 12 year old and I always have been an avid reader and there is nothing more I like than curling up in a cozy corner with a good book. Reading books has been one of my favorite pastimes. After enjoying reading many fantastic book blogs for some time now, I thought that I would finally take the plunge and start a blog of my own and express my honest opinion about the books I read. To know more about me don’t forget to visit my blog !!
So, let’s get into her Q&A!
1- When and why did you start a blog?
To be honest with you, this blog was truly a spur of the moment decision . I have learned quite a lot since we started and I hope to continue this blog for a long time with all of the things we have learned and anything and everything I have yet to learn. It’s gonna be an exciting time for sure!So After enjoying reading many fantastic book blogs for some time now, I thought that I would finally take the plunge and start a blog of my own and express my honest opinion about the books I read. So how did I get the idea of starting my blog ? I started blogging in late may I being only 11 was getting really bored in the lockdown of the schools shutdown .No chance of meeting friends and everything becoming really monotonous . Then my father gave the idea of starting a blog and it really intrigued me and started researching a bit and eventually found out about WordPress and decided to start a blog . It was just to help me to pass my time in the lockdown. I never thought I’d get any followers beyond my own parents but I continued to blog as it had become a fun experience for me
2- Biggest inspiration to you in the blogging community?
I think the biggest inspiration in the blogging community is the blogging community itself :)All bloggers are so kind and welcoming I don’t know why but I didn’t expect that. I was always shy to reach out to bloggers for help or to ask something. But once I started to, I realized that everyone here is really nice and welcoming. No matter the niche or age, bloggers welcome new bloggers. There is always space for more in this community and I find that so heartwarming. I’ve never seen this widespread attitude in any other platform or community that I’ve been a part of. I’ve met so many supportive and friendly bloggers through WordPress alone. Seriously, many of the people in this community are so funny, thoughtful, and creative, and I’m so glad to be here. I think the best part of this blogging experience has been the friendships I’ve made. At first, it took so long to find the courage to engage with others. Their blogs were so much more professional, and I was pretty intimidated! But after a while, I gained the courage to comment on other blog posts, and that greatly helped me to grow my blog and my friendships with other bloggers!!
3- Latest milestone you hit?
My latest blogging milestone was achieved when I got 11,000 views. Omg. Omg. Omg. Squeeeeee!!! I couldn’t believe this is actually happening! When I started this blog back in June, it was to help me to pass my time in the lockdown. I never thought I’d get any followers/ viewers beyond my own parents but I continued to blog as it had become a fun experience for meIt’s been an amazing journey so far, and I owe this journey to each and every supporter. Whether it be a view, like, comment, or follow, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much, to all of you!I am forever grateful that my views keep going up. 11,569 views seems like a lot to me and I’m astounded that that many people thought my blog was worth following! Even though in September I barely commented on others’ posts and was on hiatus for half of October .
4- Some of your favorite posts?
5- Finally, any advice for other bloggers?
Don’t Compare Yourself
This is basic, and it’s essential that you don’t compare yourself with other bloggers. And I know you’re going to tell me that it’s easier said than done, right? and I know, I’ve been there! But if you learn and train your mind to stop seeing other bloggers as a competition, then you can enjoy much more of the experience with your blog, and even more important, you can relax and stop worrying about feeling that pressure. Because let me say, the only competition you have in your life is with yourself, nobody else. Also, there’s nobody out there ANYONE, like you, you have the absolute power to be 100% original and wonderful in your own way and with time, you’ll see that you’ll achieve your own spark and your own essence.
I think sometimes, in addition, and unfortunately, this type of comparison gives rise to plagiarism, envy, jealousy and all kinds of feelings and unpleasant situations for yourself and for the other blogger who surely has started from scratch like you and has had to go through a journey to find their own style. So get rid of all those negative feelings and that feeling that you have to constantly be comparing yourself to get validation because it’s not the way it works, let it go, and start focusing that energy on your own content and unique style.
Don’t let Statistics Define you
This is such an easy mistake to make, especially when you’re just starting out and want to grow, maybe you focus too much on your blog statistics and end up feeling depressed or disappointed, and that could make you give up something that you really love to do and that’s not worth it. When you just start blogging you may not even think about this, but there will be a moment when someone or something makes you focus on it, it will happen, it’s absolutely human to want to improve and want to be successful and recognized, there’s nothing wrong with that, but don’t let it the power of a number takes away your own power because it doesn’t make any sense.
When you learn to focus on the quality of your content and enjoy sharing your own voice and style then the stats will improve on their own, but if you get obsessed with them, then you’ll surely start to neglect how important your blog content actually is
And now, we come to what, in my opinion, is the number one most important thing to refine as a blogger. Your blogging voice is how you write and get your ideas across with words, gifs, etc. I’m sure you’ve heard the advice “be yourself” a hundred times before, but this really applies to blogging voices!I used to think that being myself wasn’t enough because my voice was too boring compared to everyone else’s. But you don’t have to be the wittiest person alive, crack approximately three jokes per paragraph, or copy someone’s writing style, no matter how much you love it. Just be completely authentic, and trust me, people will notice and respond positively.
And that’s all! Make sure to check out the rest of the stops!
